Cenote Kin Ha
A closed, cave-like cenote at about km 24 of the Puerto Morelos cenote route, a few minutes from Zapote. A single opening in the roof lets in sunlight, so beams fall onto the water and the formations. The park also has zip lines and jumping platforms, and local operators run small-group guided dives here. Divernet notes a few clusters of small bell-shaped formations, similar to but smaller than Zapote's.
Facts
- Region: Mexico – Riviera Maya Cenotes
- Area: Puerto Morelos – Ruta de los Cenotes
- Level: intermediate
- Current: low
- Type: cave
- Coordinates: 20.8517, -87.12781 (approximate)
- Highlights: closed cenote lit by a single ceiling opening, light beams through narrow ceiling openings, stalactites and stalagmites, small clusters of 'mini-bells' reported
- Unverified: Sources conflict on depth (total depth quoted as 40–60 m; one tour text mentions a 30 m dive but shares wording with a Zapote listing); dive-route depth and halocline unconfirmed.
- Tips: Guided dives are offered in small groups (operators state max ~5); some diving or overhead experience is recommended. The depth of the dive route and the cavern/cave boundary are not reliably published, so ask the operator; anything beyond daylight is full-cave terrain requiring cave certification. Park entrance is paid on site (check current).
