Cenote Maravilla
A deep, circular sinkhole on the Puerto Morelos cenote route, partly blasted open by its owner and reached by a steep wooden stairway. Visibility is excellent and an early-afternoon shaft of sunlight penetrates deep into the dome-shaped basin. Operators highlight a thick hydrogen sulfide cloud and bell-shaped stalactites; it is usually dived as the second dive after Zapote. It is also used for underwater photography and freediving training.
