Ponderosa / Jardín del Edén
A large open cenote near Xpu-Ha (km 266 of the Cancún–Tulum highway), shared by swimmers, snorkelers and divers. The dive alternates between small rooms, narrowing passages and massive rooms where light pours in at midday. A halocline at about 9 m makes for striking photos, and the site has more wildlife than its neighbours, including slider turtles and freshwater eels. Main-area depth is about 11 m.

- Tips: Guided cavern tours are open to Open Water divers, though some listings rate it advanced because of passages and a halocline that cuts visibility for a stretch; good buoyancy needed. Cave lines beyond the cavern zone require cave certification. Diver fees are paid at the site and vary by source (about 150–500 MXN; check current); reportedly closed on Saturdays.
