Evangelia
The symbol of Costinești: a 7,355-ton refrigerated cargo ship built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast and launched on 28 May 1942 as Empire Strength, later Saxon Star, Redbrook and finally Evangelia. On 15 October 1968 she ran aground here and was never refloated. The rusting hull is visible from the beach; the hull is broken, large plates are missing and the superstructure is slowly collapsing. The dive is reached by boat and is shallow, up to about 5 m, so it is also used for try dives.
