Čierna Voda – AQUAREA dive centre
A former gravel pit between Čierna Voda and Veľké Úľany (Galanta district), once 41 m deep and now about 38 m; the dredger and conveyors were removed in 2008. The bottom is muddy with a thick layer of fine silt, mostly bare, with some grass between 10 and 15 m and walls with holes where eels hide. The lake is stocked every year and fish can be fed by hand: zander, pike, carp, grass carp, chub, perch, roach and european eel, with wels catfish under the pontoon. Night dives are the best way to see eels. The AQUAREA resort manages the lake and has a dive centre with rental, 200/300-bar fills and apartments.
