Štrkovecké jazero (Bratislava-Ružinov)
A 5.6-hectare city lake in Ružinov, a remnant of an old Danube side arm later used for gravel extraction. It is paradoxically shallowest in the middle (2.5–8 m deep overall), where the dredger stood that excavated the surrounding area. It lies on a migration route of waterbirds along the Danube and is surprisingly full of life.
