Godovič pond at Šebalk
Near the hamlet of Šebalk in Godovič, locals deepened a small pond with two dams – 4 m high at the south-east end and 2 m at the north-west – and use it as a bathing spot, fishpond and village fête ground. The pond is about 100 m long and up to 30 m wide, about 3.5 m deep by the lower dam and 1.5 m by the upper one. Small fish and, in summer, tadpoles are everywhere, especially along the shores and dams, and locals sometimes stock carp. It is a simple dive suited to beginners and equipment checks.

Visibility is poor (about 1 m in summer) over a thin layer of silt – bring a compass. Diveable all year unless the pond has been drained for cleaning, which locals do every few years; it can freeze in winter. As it is a village bathing and fishing pond, be considerate of other users. The SPZ sheet dates from 2012; river gravel, banks and access roads may have changed since.
