Idrijca gorge at Most na Soči station
Between the Bača confluence and Most na Soči the Idrijca runs through a gorge by the Most na Soči railway station, where the backwater of the Doblar dam on the Soča already slows the river. The gorge averages about 6 m and reaches 11 m, and if you continue to Most na Soči the water drops to 32 m, cold, murky and completely dark. Big schools of fish hold in the faster pools at the start. The best way is a one-way drift of about a kilometre (or two to Most na Soči) with a car at each end.

- Depth: 0–11 m
- Level: intermediate
- Current: moderate
- Type: drift, channel

- Highlights: deep gorge with sheer walls, large fish schools in the pools, Bača–Idrijca confluence, up to 32 m deep and dark at Most na Soči
- Tips: Scout entry and exit points without gear first. Start below the railway bridge east of the gorge (wade a few hundred metres past the Bača confluence) and exit on the gentle left bank by the power line crossing the wide lake, or in the centre of Most na Soči. You cannot exit under bridges or along the cliffs; the right bank is sheer throughout. Plan air for at least an hour (two to Most na Soči). With one car, start at the power line and swim upstream (about 2.5 h in total). Low water gives the best visibility and weakest currents. Torch and compass. The sheet dates from 2012 (updated 2016).
