Idrijca pool at Laze (Reka)
Between the village of Reka and the hamlet of Laze the Idrijca cuts into a steep slope, leaving a long pool with a rocky left bank and a gentle gravel right bank. The deepest part, up to 6 m, runs right under the wooded slope and stays in shade even in summer. That is where the PAS sheet promises really big fish, alongside fish of all sizes in the rest of the pool. A swim up and back takes about an hour, over a mostly gravel bed with bright pebbles.

- Tips: On the narrow regional road Idrija – Most na Soči (about 20 km from either end). Park on the grassy car park at the west end of the pool (or at spots along the road); a short track leads to the west end, and the east end is also reachable. Dive at low water for better visibility and weaker currents; the shallower upstream (east) end has stronger current, and at the west end take care not to be pulled into the rapids. Deep parts are shaded – not ideal for photos. Night diving is possible per the sheet. No river-specific diving rule was found; check locally (fishing, kayaks). The sheet dates from 2012; river gravel moves and depths may have changed.
