Idrijca gorge at Mlinšče
Before the hamlet of Mlinšče the Idrijca cuts a shallow gorge with fairly steep banks, forming one long pool about 4 m deep at its lower end and closed by rapids at both ends. You enter right at the deepest part, where a large school of fish circles. Upstream the river gets shallower and the current stronger, with single bigger fish under the rocks. Swimming the pool both ways takes about an hour, on scuba or as a snorkel.
