Soča pools below Tonocov grad (Kobarid)
Below the Tonocov grad hill just outside Kobarid the Soča forms two pools: a deeper one under the hill (to about 6 m) and a shallower one under a footbridge (about 3.5 m). The bottom is gravel with rocky banks and some algae-covered boulders. Visibility is usually good, but the current is noticeable and stronger in the shallows between pools. Water is about 4 °C in winter and about 12 °C in summer.
