Galdstar wreck (Viveiro)
The Galdstar sank on 16 October 1977 off the Ría de Viveiro on a Rotterdam–Barcelona run with about 950 t of borax (and cases of whisky). She lies on her starboard side on sand at about 45 m, highest parts at about 35 m, broken into a bow section of about 25 m and a stern section of about 50 m roughly 30 m apart; the stern holds the holds, engine room and bridge. The structure is covered with spirographs, gorgonians and sponges, with conger eels, lobsters and spider crabs. A technical-level dive (trimix recommended by one guide). Position estimated from the nearest coast or published location text, for orientation only.
