Reggio Messina wreck
The Reggio Messina is a 122 m ferry that once carried trains between Sicily and the mainland; a fire stopped its planned conversion into a party venue for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the Catalan government sank it as a marine biotope, roughly 2 nautical miles from L'Estartit near La Foradada. It lies at 23 to 35 m in three main sections (stern, centre, bow) and cannot be explored in one dive; suspended particles limit visibility to about 5 to 15 m. Position estimated from maps and place names, for orientation only.
