Sa Bota (La Bota d'es Vedrà)
Sa Bota is an underwater mountain in open sea about a mile north-west of Es Vedrà, rising from over 40 m to within centimetres of the surface (only swell reveals it). It is one of Ibiza's best dives: distance from the coast often brings pelagics such as tuna and amberjack, and shoals of barracuda. Moor and descend to the depth you want, then circle the roughly round pinnacle: S and E slopes are gradual, N and W faces have vertical cuts with good plant cover and small fish, and at depth spiny lobster, slipper lobsters, moray eels and perhaps groupers; a small islet lies at 25–35 m on the right when heading north. Watch for current. Position from the Consell de Formentera dive catalogue.
