El Moraig cave – Poble Nou de Benitatxell
Cave-and-wall dive off Poble Nou de Benitatxell. You enter a pool through a cave, pass a low opening and follow the wall south over rocky bottom with seagrass and sand patches; inside the mountain is a large cavern lit from above. The entry hole is about 3 m wide and drops about 5 m vertically to a rocky bottom. The Generalitat page warns to enter the cathole with care and says the underwater river beyond the cavern should only be undertaken by specially trained divers who know the route (cave diving training). Wildlife: moray eel, octopus, peacock wrasse, white seabream and salema. Position is the map pin on that page, approximate.
