Abington Reef
Northernmost reef of the Sudanese liveaboard routes, marked by a lighthouse: a coral pinnacle rising vertically from the depths, usually dived on the north wall, where schools of hammerheads and grey reef sharks are found at depth and huge schools of jacks and fusiliers sweep past higher up. Gorgonian fans, big anemones, lionfish and stingrays; the current is often strong.
