HTMS Prab
HTMS Prab is a former Royal Thai Navy landing ship, originally built for the US Navy in the Second World War, that was scuttled as an artificial reef just south of Ko Ngam Noi off Chumphon in 2011. It is the sister ship of the HTMS Sattakut off Koh Tao but sits shallower, with the seabed at about 24 m, which makes it more accessible to less experienced divers. Corals, urchins and molluscs now cover the hull, guns sit at both ends and the bridge is in the middle. Large schools of one-spot snapper and fusiliers surround it, and a hawksbill turtle or even a whale shark occasionally passes.
