Hin Muang
Hin Muang ('Purple Rock') lies a few hundred metres north of Hin Daeng and never breaks the surface. It is a long, narrow ridge, its shallowest point around 9 m on the western end, with near-vertical walls covered in purple soft coral, anemones and sea fans that drop to around 70 m – often called the deepest wall dive in Thailand. Manta rays, sometimes in groups, are the main draw in season, and grey reef shark and leopard shark are also reported. Because the rock accelerates the current over its top, it is the more demanding of the pair.
