Kata Reef
Kata Reef is a shallow shore dive at the northern end of Kata Beach on Phuket's west coast, with the reef starting only about 100 m from the sand at 2–3 m. The reef shelf slopes gently to a maximum of about 10–12 m, which makes it a common site for Discover Scuba Diving, refreshers and courses. Clownfish, bannerfish and juvenile snappers live on the coral, with stonefish, lionfish, morays and small barracuda; it is one of the few Phuket sites where mimic octopus appear on the sand, and blue-spotted rays and turtles occasionally pass.
