South Tip
South Tip is a small site of large granite boulders off the southernmost point of Racha Noi, regarded as the best place in Phuket's day-trip range to see manta rays. The boulders begin at about 14 m and run down past 40 m, with some soft corals and sea whips, surgeonfish and unicornfish. Large schools of chevron barracuda, giant trevally and eagle rays add to the pelagic action, and in the winter months mantas are seen more often than not. The site has no shelter from the island, so strong currents and waves are common.
