Breakfast Bend
Breakfast Bend is on the east side of Ko Bangu (island 9) and takes its name from the morning light. The hard-coral reef, dominated by staghorn and table corals, starts at about 5 m and slopes to 18 m before steeper banks to 34 m. Leopard sharks often rest on the sand in the shallows, and blue-spotted stingrays, octopus and garden eels are common. At the southern end the reef gives way to boulders where current can bring tuna, cobia and chevron barracuda.
