Leonora (Bully Hayes' ship)
Remains of the 19th-century sailing ship Leonora (also written Lenora), reputedly commanded by the pirate Bully Hayes, wrecked in Utwe Harbor by a typhoon in 1874. Little is left apart from metal pieces sticking out of the silt, but the site is a pleasant muck dive that suits windy days when the open reef is rough. Depth is reported as about 12 m (40 ft) in a 2011 Kosrae Visitors Bureau release and 18 m (60 ft) in a magazine article. Wreck – do not touch or remove anything; artefacts are protected and removing them is illegal.
